Kanishia was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1991. As a child she was always creating something from nothing.
She moved to Atlanta Georgia as a teenager with her mother and made a home of her own in the sweet peach state, with her now husband and daughter. She stopped creating for a while, until her husband needed help with an art assignment for his class. It was as if when she picked up the charcoal to start sketching, she had never stopped creating.
Kanishia is versed in pastels, water colors and acrylics. Trying many techniques and finding different ways to extract her emotions and ideas onto canvas. In this period of her creations Kanishia has found, “ just letting go and letting the fluid motions of the brush and paint” gets her to the best results of expression on canvas.
Since becoming an artist, Kanishia has exhibited art in the 2014 RAW Atlanta showcase, 2016 Castleberry Art walk and 2017 MOCA Atlanta showcase.
